Yale Door and Window Solutions has extended its offering of BBA certified window products.
Dekko Window Systems has once again completed a first, with a £150k investment in the new, ground-breaking Graf Cill Welder.
The new cill welder means the firm can add a high-end, premium finish to their window cills as standard, manufacturing cills with a completely seamless weld. Eliminating potential dis-colouration by removing the need to sand or polish the cill, the advanced machine achieves a more accurate, cleaner finish as it digitally sets the angles to weld. “Both Infinity and Residence have quickly established themselves as two of the industry’s top systems, and part of that success comes from appealing to high-end focused consumers through their seamless corner welds,” comments Kurt Greatrex, Sales Director at Dekko Window Systems. “The addition of the new Graf Cill Welder means we can take this one step further, creating high-quality, seamless window systems that are even more desirable, deliver even greater margins for our customers
and furthers the gap between them and their competition.”
Grant Stratford, Technical Director for Yale Door and Window Solutions, comments: “We are proud to be able to offer our customers a range of steadfast high-security window hardware solutions that are backed by the BBA certification.
consistency of the product’s performance and the manufacturing process – giving the end user added peace of mind and confidence in the product’s reliability and longevity.”
Designed to provide a premium alternative to standard white uPVC windows, Infinity’s distinct aesthetics are achieved in three popular designs; chamfered, sculptured and the sought-after flush sash. Available in 26 stunning colourways including a variety of authentic woodgrain foils, Infinity has been designed to appeal to multiple markets, whether it’s as a timber replacement, or a high-end solution for new-build projects.
“We are thrilled to have obtained the certification for the Yale Shootbolt, Encloser and Revolution Window Hinge. These products go alongside the Defender and Defender Egress hinges, Yale Hinge and Virage Handle, for which we already hold the certification.
The BBA certification is an industry recognised symbol of product quality and is distinctive in that all certified products are subject to a QA assessment, and have to pass a full product and manufacturing process audit every year.
“Unlike the BBA assessment reports, where the products are assessed once and then no further evaluation is conducted for 5 years, the certification scheme inspects the product and factory on an annual basis. This proves the ongoing
Paul Atkinson, Sales Director for Yale Door and Window Solutions, adds: “The BBA certification is a recognised guarantee of product performance, letting our customers know that not only have the products been independently tested to ensure they conform to the required standards, but that our factory is regularly inspected too.”
“Over our 10-years in business we have invested millions of pounds to create three game-changing brands becoming one of the UK’s largest fabricator of the timber-effect range. Cutting edge machinery is just one of the many ways we ensure we can always meet the needs of installers in a rapidly-changing, highly-competitive market.”

Astraseal Group, one of Distinction Doors’ longest-standing customers recently introduced the nxt-gen composite door to its portfolio and the company is delighted with the move.
designed to quickly and efficiently process aluminium and thin-walled steel to the highest of standards. The machine’s onboard tool magazines ensure tool changing times are kept to a minimum, thereby optimising machining cycles, while elumatec’s cutting-edge eluCad software allows for quick and intuitive programming.
Karl Cornwell and Andy Gailey, Production Managers at Astraseal, deliver the same verdict: “It’s the best door slab that we have worked with.”

Karl and Andy are keen to highlight the production efficiencies of nxt-gen, the positive reaction in the marketplace and the strength of Distinction’s marketing support.
Karl comments that the quality of nxt-gen combined with the strength of Distinction’s marketing is also helping Astraseal across all market sectors. “Our trade customers are actually asking for nxt-gen by name and its growing market presence is clearly evident. We are very strong in the commercial sector and have undertaken several large local authority contracts using nxt-gen – the feedback of which has been extremely positive.” The success story continues in the retail sector too. “It is now the composite door of choice with our retail customers. Plus, the traffic has significantly increased across our domestic showrooms thanks to Distinction’s approved showroom locator platform.”
One of the world’s most spectacular new buildings couldn’t have been completed without expertise from machinery manufacturers elumatec.
The project was the work of Abu Dhabi-based elumatec customer White Aluminium, and given its sheer scale and complexity, elumatec itself was on-hand throughout to offer advice and support. Mechanical engineers from the firm’s Muhlacker headquarters were dispatched to Abu Dhabi to set up two identical SBZ 151 Flexium+ CNCs – state-of-the-art 5-axis profile machining centres
On the Louvre, elumatec turned CSV files provided by the project’s developers into 21 master files, from which production data for almost 500,000 profile parts were transferred into eluCad. After initial tests in Muhlacker, the main manufacturing phase was set into motion at White Aluminium. “This amazing project is a fantastic demonstration of just what elumatec technology is capable of,” comments Phil Heavey, MD of elumatec UK. “Using our software and machinery products, an internationally-renowned architect and a first-rate fabricator were able to create one of the most exciting buildings on the planet.”
Andy says Astraseal, which manufactures around 15,000 Distinction doors a year, ensures its manufacturing efficiencies are at their best. “With nxt-gen there are so many benefits from a production point of view,” he says. “The product is extremely easy to manufacture with considerably less waste. There is no storage of cassettes needed, plus the ease and speed of manufacture impacts across the whole fabrication process from improved efficiencies through to less wear and tear on our fabrication machinery.”
