Global – Setting The World On Fire
Made for Trade have been fabricating the Global Conservatory Roof System for 10 y ears. During this time the Global system has proved consistent in sales and popular with installer and builders, writes MD Bradley Gaunt
servatory design and build are a world apart from the UPVC ver- sions fuelling the reputation a con- servatory could only be used for half the year. Global conservato- ries and orangeries can now pro- vide far better thermal performances and when con- structed with the right balance of vertical glazing and solid walls deliver excellent living spaces and additions to the home.
Changing styles
Style is also an important factor with modern interpretations of the Conservatory which fit a stan- dard square footprint, less Victo- rian and P-shaped orders and a rise of less ornate Edwardian and lean-to designs.
Confidence in the product bol- stered by year on year growth with the Global brand and along- side new product marketing has allowing Made for Trade to reach new sales and subsequently in- vested in a further 10,000sq.ft of factory space for its Global Roof operations and associated stock and delivery requirements.
This new investment is part of a broader expansion that saw Made for Trade’s own Korniche Aluminium Roof Lantern and Smart Visofold Bi-Folding Door operations breaking company production records month on month in 2017.
The Korniche has provided Made for Trade a platform which raised our profile at the FIT Show in 2017 and as a result we have seen a growth in all aspects of the business. i
If you put your faith in industry reports you'd believe there was a massive decline in the popu- larity of the conservatory as a method consumers are choos- ing to extend properties, writes Bradley Gaunt of Made for Trade - a company certainly bucking the trend as the firm manufactures over 4,000 Global Conservatory Roofs a year.
Energy Made for Trade have seen a rise in sales throughout 2017 which suggests there is life left in the market yet and con- sumers are less distracted by other means of property development than the industry news suggests.
Synseal's Global system ap- pears to be increasingly popular and a preferred product for many with a market share of 50% plus. Price, quality and service have al- ways been at the forefront of Made for Trade’s approach and this undoubtedly has also helped maintain the level of sales for the Global Roof.
Andy Jones, Group Sales and Marketing Director at Synseal Group, recently wrote an en- dorsement for me saying 'Made for Trade has been a long-stand- ing customer of ours and an ex- cellent ambassador for our Global conservatory roof, for more than 10 years. I’m looking forward to visiting the new, larger factory space where you manu- factured more than 4000 Global roofs, last year - that's over 100 a week...absolutely fantastic'.
It’s important to remember that the Global Conservatory System is still one of the most cost effective solutions to extend and improve a home. Glass has become the game changer, the developments in thermal qualities of both frame and glass standards are helping to break away from the stigma of being ‘too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter.’
